Kylie's First Day!

Well, Kylie is sitting in her Kindergarten class right now! I am so excited for her! This morning went pretty smoothly considering we had to wake her up to get ready in time. She is usually up bright and early, but today she decided she would sleep until after 7! She loved getting ready and asked her daddy not to come upstairs until she was completely dressed! She loves to surprise him with how pretty and fancy she looks!
We arrived at her school and she was so excited to start her day! She walked in and hung her backpack in her cubby. She then walked over and picked out her name tag. Went to find her table and started playing. I was so proud of the way she went about the room as if she has been doing everyday! She is so independent, and I love that (most of the time anyway). I was so proud of myself for keeping it together, in the classroom anyway :)! She gave Bill and I a big hug and kiss and we were gone! That was a tough walk down the sidewalk to the car, but I have great relief in knowing that she is in a safe, loving environment. So here are the pictures from this morning and a couple from yesterday when she met her teachers. I hope you enjoy!

As you can tell she was super excited!

And off she goes

Wow! Who would have thought that this day would come so fast. The day that my precious baby girl would start Kindergarten. As I sit here I can remember the day that I took her to her first day of preschool. It is so hard to believe that those days are behind us and she is starting her adventure to becoming her own little person. I am so incredibly proud of the beautiful, smart person that she has become. I am proud of her determination, independence, and ability to surprise me with just how much she knows. She has know idea just how many wonderful things there are for her to learn and I am so thankful that she is going to have an amazing safe place to explore the world.
Tonight as I put her to bed and we prayed for a good nights sleep and a wonderful first day, her joyful smile stretched from ear to ear. When we talked about how many new friends she would make this year, she beamed with excitement. I am so incredibly excited for her and this wonderful opportunity she has. I am a little saddened at the thought that tomorrow morning when we wake, she is no longer going to be a preschooler, but instead an eager Kindergartener! These are the times that I have to remind myself to slow down and remember all of the wonderful memories we are making as a family. I fear I am going to blink, and she is going to be graduating from high school and heading off to college. I know those years are going to be here faster than I would like, but for now I am simply going to enjoy every last minute with her while she is still mine.
Kylie Faith, I wish you the very best in all that you do! I know that you will have a wonderful first day of Kindergarten and that you will love and be loved by your teachers. I am so incredibly blessed that I get to be your Mommy! Have a great first day and I can't wait to hear all about it! I love you!
