After my last post, I really tried to re-focus on being more positive. I think I have come to the realization that I make things a lot worse in my head then they could ever be in reality. Last weeks fiasco was me being scared of how "awful" the summer is going to be with Kylie not in school. It really worried me about having no "Tiff Time" scheduled out! I was also wondering what was I going to do with the kids everyday to keep them occupied all summer. Well, we hit the pool Monday morning and the kids were AMAZING!!! I couldn't have dreamed it going better than it did. We followed that with two trips to the pool on Wednesday. One in the morning and then the kids convinced me to take them back after their naps. I am now very excited for the summer. I look forward to hanging out at the pool with the kids and some great friends. I am also loving the free time Kylie and I have together on Tuesday and Thursday while Will is in his Parent's Morning Out Program. As a matter of fact, Kylie woke up on Thursday and the first thing she said was "I sure love Mommy and Kylie mornings! Can I have some chewing gum while Will is at school?" I think she reels me in with the sweet talk and as soon as I am feeling all mushy, she drops the reality on me! Just kidding, I know she loves our special time together as do I.
So, as for the positive thinking, I think it is working. I am also definitely looking forward to the summer and my mornings with Kylie. It looks like I may have to just make more of an effort for "Tiff Time" than I did when they were both in school, but it is definitely worth it! Until next time......Tiffanie

Every summer I get the pleasure of going to the local pool here - Founders - and watching all the moms that are in your same shoes - worried about occupying their little ones while school is out and it's amazing how time flies. I see the same mommies and kids each day at the pool and the moms have a great time talking with their friends while the kids play for hours. It's really fascinating how easy it seems to occupy them (on the sunny days) - I'm sure it gets a little stressful on rainy days. I never get to see the moms on those days. I'm actually looking forward to joining the "mom pool squad" next year. :)
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your summer!!! It will be gone before you know it! :) And, then, people like me, get to figure out how to entertain those kids for 180 school days. Oh my! :)
